The GuestHouse

Lausanne Guest House & Backpacker is highly dedicated to preserving all ecological aspects of the community.

In 2001, the entire building was renovated with “green” materials that respect nature while still keeping the end of the century architecture intact. A special effort was made to conserve the original pieces of the building. Thermal panels have been installed on the roof in order to capture the sun’s heat to keep the water preheated for the bathrooms.

Thermal panels have also been designed to supply the energy for the external lights. Through a contract made with the local Electrical company of Lausanne, the Lausanne Guest House will be supplied with renewed electricity either hydroelectric or solar. Natural gas will be used for heating. An extra protection of isolation combined with a regulated ventilation system for cleansing the air will make the Lausanne Guest House a pollen-free hotel. All theses aspects comply with Minergie, the strictest environmental quality standards of Switzerland.
