A
Adaptors	Certain power adaptors are available at reception upon payment of a deposit. However, they do not convert 110V to 220V.
Airports	The nearest airport is Genève Cointrin. The journey from the airport train station to Lausanne takes 40 minutes and our GuestHouse is a 2-minute walk from Lausanne station. From Zürich Unique Airport, the train journey takes 21/2 hours. www.gva.ch
Affiliation	We are an independent GuestHouse . No special affiliation is required of our guests.
Alarm calls	The GuestHouse does not make alarm calls. Alarm clocks can be obtained at reception upon payment of a deposit.

Baby	Cots without bedding are provided on request free of charge. A stroller is also available free of charge. Baby sheets can be furnished for CHF 10.- extra
Balcony	Certain rooms (double and quadruple) have private balconies. However, the availability of these rooms at any given time cannot be guaranteed. Smoking on the balconies is strictly forbidden. The reason for this is that the ventilation system takes in outside air, which can " pollute " the entire building. The Lausanne GuestHouse reserves the right to evict, without prior notice or refund, any person who does not respect this rule.
Barbecue	See Grill.
Bedding and Bathtowels	Double and single rooms: The price includes made beds and bath towels. Quadruple rooms : Rental of duvets / pillows and sheets: CHF 5.-/night Rental of bath towels : CHF 2.-/towel.
Bicycles	There is a bicycle shed for our guests' bicycles. No charge.
Boat trips	The CGN (Compagnie Générale de Navigation) operates regular passenger boat services on Lake Leman (Lake Geneva). Tickets can be obtained in Ouchy and at the train station. www.cgn.ch
Breakfast	We do not serve breakfast. A fully-equipped kitchen (refrigerator, but no freezer) complete with utensiles is at your disposal, as well as drinks machines for hot and cold drinks. The kitchen is closed between 13:30 and 14:30 for cleaning by our personnel. There are bakeries and restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the Lausanne GuestHouse.

Changing money	Foreign currency can be changed at the train station. There are cash dispensers at the BCV (Place de la Gare) and at the train station.
Check-in	Check-in times are the same as reception opening hours in the afternoon. Please note that guests are admitted to their rooms from 15:00 on the day of arrival. If you arrive earlier, you may leave your luggage in the luggage room.
Check-out	Guests must check out by 11:00. (For more details see our "Conditions")
Cheques	We do not accept cheques other than Reka cheques.
Chemist	The Lausanne GuestHouse has a first-aid kit. There are 3 chemist's in the immediate vicinity of the Guesthouse. Emergency telephone number : 117.

Check-in	Les heures de check-in correspondent aux heures d'ouverture de la réception de l'après-midi. Veuillez noter que les chambres sont disponibles à partir de 15h.00 le jour de votre arrivée. Si vous arrivez plus tôt, vous pouvez laisser vos bagages au local à bagages prévu à cet effet.
Cigarettes	Our hotel is a member of a non-smoking hotels association. The Lausanne GuestHouse is therefore STRICTLY NON SMOKING , except in the garden. The Lausanne GuestHouse reserves the right to evict, without prior notice or refund, any person who does not respect this rule. All of the rooms in the hotel have smoke detectors. If an alarm is set off by smoking or by an attempt to disactivate a detector, the resulting costs (up to CHF 500.-) will be charged to the person or persons responsible
Cinemas	The multiplex " Galeries du Cinéma " is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. (Rue du Petit-Chêne). The Flon multiplex cinema can be reached in about 10 minutes by metro.
Cleaning	All rooms are cleaned daily, including the bathrooms. The bedding is not changed daily. Towels are changed on request.
Cleanliness	The Lausanne GuestHouse has a reputation for cleanliness and we have always taken pride in this. We expect our guests to help us to maintain this reputation.
Credit cards	Credit cards (Visa and Mastercard) are only accepted as a guarantee for reservations and for amounts over CHF 300.-. Smaller amounts must be paid, in Swiss Francs or in Euros, in cash or with ECDirect or Swiss Post cards.

Disability	There are ramps, a lift and specially designed bathrooms. There is no ramp for the garden. Please inform us of any disability when you reserve.
Discounts	Holders of an ISIC card are entitled to discounts.
Dormitoriess	Quadruple rooms are rooms with 4 beds (i.e. 2 bunk beds). As a rule men and women sleep in separate dormitories, except on special request.
Drinks	There are coin-operated drinks machines for hot and cold drinks. 24 hour service.
Drugs	Drugs are strictly forbidden in the GuestHouse. The Lausanne GuestHouse reserves the right to evict, without prior notice or refund, any person who does not respect this rule.

Fax	Receive: no charge for the first 5 pages. Each additional page: 20 centimes. Ask at reception. Send : CHF 2.-/page. Ask at reception.
Finding us	By train : Get a ticket for Lausanne gare CFF. We are a 2-minute walk from the station. See the Map on our Web site. By plane : see " airports ". By car : see the Map on our Web site. On foot : see the Map on our Web site.
Fire	The fire alarm system at the GuestHouse complies to the latest safety standards. Floor plans and evacuation procedures are posted on every door in every room. Moreover, every floor and every landing has a fire door. If a fire breaks out, an alarm sounds and the lift shuts down. The fire brigade and the hotel personnel are automatically alerted.
First-aid	The Lausanne GuestHouse has a basic first-aid kit. There are 3 chemist's in the immediate vicinity of the Guesthouse. Emergency number : 117.
Foreign currency	We accept no other foreign currency but Euros (banknotes only). Change is given in Swiss Francs. Euros are not accepted by vending machines and ticket machines.

Garden	Our calm, shady garden is open till 12 p.m. However, quiet must prevail after 10 p.m.
Grill	An Australian gas grill is available at no charge (and is well appreciated!) in the summer months.
Groups	See "Reservations" .
Guarantee	As a guarantee of your reservation, we require your credit card number and its date of validity, a cash deposit or a giro transfer. The amount paid covers the cost of the first night.

Hairdrier	Available at reception upon payment of a deposit.

Internet	5 workstations with ADSL connection, but no access to diskettes, ports, CD or printers. 24 hour service. Rate: approx. CHF 8.- /hour. Minimum charge : CHF 2.-.
Ironing	An iron and an ironing board are available on request free of charge.

Lake	Lake Leman (Lake Geneva) and Ouchy (restaurants, port, esplanade) are a 15-minute walk or 7 minutes by metro from the hotel. Tickets for lake cruises and crossings can be obtained in Ouchy.
Late arrivals	For late arrivals (after 22:00) the entry code to the building and digital key number for your room can be obtained by giving us advance notice of your arrival plans. (Credit card reservations only)
Laundry room	A laundry room with a washing-machine and tumble-drier is open 24 hours/day. The machines accept only Swiss francs (approx. CHF 5.-/load, wash and dry). Washing powder is sold at reception (1 dose = CHF 1.-).

Map	A town plan of Lausanne can be obtained free of charge at reception.
Motorcycles	Motorcycles can be parked free of charge in a sheltered place next to the GuestHouse.

Night watchman	In the high season, a night watchman is present.
Noise	Quiet must prevail after 22:00. As all of our rooms open onto the garden, our guests are not disturbed by passing trains.

Olympic Museum	All of our guests are entitled to a discount on tickets to the Olympic Museum. Tickets can be obtained at reception.

Parking	Parking spaces can be rented for CHF 10.-/night. Small vehicles only (max. 9 seats). The Lausanne GuestHouse assumes no responsibility for theft or damage. Parking spaces must be reserved in advance.
Pets	Pets are not accepted at the Guesthouse.
Pharmacy	The Lausanne GuestHouse has a first-aid kit. There are 3 pharmacies in the immediate vicinity of the Guesthouse. Emergency telephone number : 117.
Photocopies	Photocopies can be made at reception (CHF -.20 /page).
Post office	The central Post Office is a 5-minute walk from the hotel.
Prolonged stay	Maximum length of stay : 7 nights.
Public transport	The bus stop " Epinettes " is 50 metres from the hotel. Fares and timetables: www.t-l.ch The metro (Ouchy - Gare - Flon) is a 3-minute walk from the hotel (opposite the train station).

Reception	Opening hours : 07:30 – 12:00 and 15:00 – 22:00.
Reservations	Individual reservations, 1 - 9 persons : Please reserve via the "Price " tab on our Web site. Groups of 10 or more persons : Please e-mail your request. Also consult " Group reservations " on our site.
Residents	The vocation of the Lausanne GuestHouse is to provide accommodation for tourists and travellers. Therefore, we do not accept reservations from residents of Lausanne and the surrounding area.

Quadruple : All rooms (with 2 bunk beds) face south (the lake and the Alps). The mens' and womens' showers and toilets are all on the north side. Double : All rooms face south and have a view of the lake and the Alps. The bathrooms are opposite the rooms. Private bathrooms : use the same key as the room. Shared bathrooms : 2 rooms share the same bathroom.

Security	Lausanne is not a dangerous town. However, as in most other towns there can be thieves and pickpockets. So, while in our GuestHouse, never leave your valuables unwatched and use the lockers at your disposal.
Shops	There are many shops in the immediate vicinity of the GuestHouse.

Taxi	Reception will call a taxi for you free of charge. There is also a taxi stand at the train station.
Telephone	The GuestHouse has a public telephone which takes Swiss coins. Minimum insertion : CHF 1.- for local calls. There are no telephones in the rooms.
Tourist Office	The Lausanne Tourist Office is at the train station. You will also find abundant tourist information at reception and in display stands in the GuestHouse.
Town Plan	A town plan of Lausanne can be obtained free of charge at reception.

TV/Video	It is possible to view DVDs. Ask at reception. On winter evenings, we organise film viewings.
